I need feed back

I am trying to decide on a graphics/image/photo program to buy. Since I have never used any of them, I was wondering, what do you use? If you own a graphics program, (Panit Shop Pro, Photo Shop, Corel Draw, etc) I want to know. What do you like about it? What do you wish was different?

Chelle, I would really value your opinion since you make awesome drawings and paintings!

I use Photoshop & Illustrator. There are uber expensive to buy though. My programs are for Mac now or I would *cough* let you "try it". Email me I can give you some private tips *wink*

I'm afraid I don't have any advice to offer, but I've heard great things about Photoshop and really want it myself...thanks for asking since it helps to see what others have to say, too. :) Let us know what you decide...

I love Photoshop elements. If you buy the full version, you'll be spending a lot of money, but I got Photoshop elements for about $99, and you can probably buy it cheaper than that on Ebay. Warning though, it takes up a lot of memory, is somewhat complicated to learn unless you buy a manual, but it can do a lot of photo editing.

I use Paint Shop Pro because that's the only one I know how to use... and it's Maggie-proof! (also known as idiot-proof) haha!

First thanks for all the support and prayers you've been giving me. Your friendship has really meant a lot during all this stuff with my daughter.

As far as graphics programs go, I use Photoshop CS. I have Illustrator CS and Macromedia Studio MX, so I use Fireworks and Flash occasionally but I usually just stick with Photoshop to manipulate my photos or edit images I get off the net... it's great for quick things like making an image transparent, so you can throw it up onto any background. I also love playing with the filters for great special effects.

As someone said earlier though, it is an expensive program (got all my software gifted, lucky me!). I know of a few blogger friends who have done amazing things with Paint Shop Pro and it is supposed to be inexpensive, so if price is a factor I would recommend starting with that program. I haven't used the Photoshop Elements program so I don't know how many features it contains compared to the full version.

You might check your local library to see if they have either program available to borrow, or if they offer any intro classes so you can get a taste of the programs before you buy. Good luck - let me know how you do.
